1. Introduction and Australian Consumer Law

These Terms and Conditions govern the supply, design, and installation of clean energy hardware, solar PV systems, battery storage, heat pump hot water units, and concealed ducted reverse cycle systems by Voltz Energy Pty Ltd (ABN 84 648 192 381, Registered Electrical Contractor REC #31942).

Australian Consumer Law (ACL) Statutory Guarantees Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

2. Quotations, Site Inspection & Contract Formation

Initial quotations provided via our digital tools or over the phone are based on preliminary desktop analysis. A binding contract is established once:

  • The customer accepts our formal proposal in writing or electronically;
  • A site technical assessment by our licensed trades verifies roof structural viability, switchboard compliance, and electrical capacity; and
  • The required deposit is received.

If pre-existing electrical hazards (such as degraded fuse boards, lack of safety switches, or non-compliant earthing) are discovered on site, additional works required by Energy Safe Victoria will be quoted before installation commences.

3. Government Rebates & Certificate Assignment (STCs & VEECs)

Where a point-of-sale rebate discount is reflected on your invoice (such as Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) or Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs)):

  • Assignment of Rights: The customer irrevocably assigns to Voltz Energy (or its nominated Accredited Certificate Provider) the rights to create and trade all environmental certificates generated by the installation.
  • Eligibility Covenants: The customer warrants that they meet all statutory eligibility criteria under the Clean Energy Regulator, Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU), or Solar Victoria guidelines.
  • VEU Activity 6 Gas Decommissioning: For ducted reverse cycle upgrades claiming gas decommissioning subsidies, the customer agrees to the permanent decommissioning and removal of the old gas heating unit in compliance with Essential Services Commission rules.
  • Rebate Clawback: If certificates cannot be created due to false customer information, prior rebate claims, or premature removal of equipment, the customer is liable for the full undiscounted invoice balance.

4. Grid Connection & DNSP Approvals

Voltz Energy will manage grid connection and solar export pre-approval paperwork with your local Distribution Network Service Provider (DNSP). The distributor determines allowable export limits (e.g. 5kW single-phase). Meter reconfiguration and bi-directional smart meter upgrade fees levied by your electricity retailer are separate and payable to your retailer.

5. Warranties & Workmanship

Voltz Energy provides a comprehensive 7-Year Workmanship Warranty covering all physical installation works, cabling, duct connections, and mounting systems.

Manufacturer warranties are passed through directly to the customer:

  • Solar Panels: 25 to 30 Years Linear Performance Warranty.
  • Inverters & Batteries: 10 Years Manufacturer Warranty.
  • Ducted Heat Pumps & AC: 5 to 7 Years Manufacturer Compressor & Parts Warranty.

6. Title, Risk and Payment

Risk in the equipment passes to the customer upon delivery to the premises. Title and ownership remain with Voltz Energy until the contract price is paid in full. Upon commissioning, a licensed Certificate of Electrical Safety (COES) will be issued.

7. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and VCAT.
